Last spring our 3rd graders planted small seeding plants, which have blossomed throughout the summer months and early fall!
We have basil, kale, tomatoes, thyme, tarragon, sage, parsley, lavender, rosemary, pepper, cucumbers and strawberries.
Annie, from our Wellness in the School program along with our kitchen staff have harvest some of the herbs and vegetables, adding them to our school menu.
They have made pesto, salad dressings and toss the vegetables in our salad bar!
Our After-School Program:
The children get to water the plants and harvest herbs to take home. They are learning about compost, different kinds of herbs and made their very own terrarium.
