Thanks for your pie orders and to Eva for sweetening so many Thanksgiving tables! In so doing, you added to the coffers that support field trips, books in the classroom, and all things to do with enriching our children’s educational experience at PS 166. Many thanks and a very Happy Thanksgiving to you.
Thanks to 4th grade parent, Claudia Knafo, for organizing a frighteningly awesome Halloween concert for K-5 classes and parents. Dressed as witches, Claudia, on piano, Katya Ignatova, violin, Marta Bedkowska-Reilly, cello, with Alex Yagupsky, Count Dracula (and Claudia’s husband), on accordion, the musicians enchanted the audience with Astor Piazzolla’s, The Four Seasons in Buenos Aires (Fall and Spring) as well as Antonin Dvorak’s Dumky Trio. Thanks again to Claudia and Alex, aka Joshua’s parents, for giving their time and talent to creating a spectacular start to Halloween for PS 166!
Jake’s Dilemma on Amsterdam between 80th and 81st streets donated, completely unsolicited, 2 Elmos (document projectors) for the 3rd-5th grade classrooms, in addition to some fabulous recess equipment, including DVDs for indoor recess. This was a truly generous contribution worth over $2000. Thank you, everyone at Jake’s Dilemma, and especially Jonah for making this happen. Feel free to stop by and thank them personally on behalf of all 166 families!
Attention PS166 community: The annual school auction night was a remarkable success!
Together we raised $135,502.50 for our school! YOU made a difference!!!
(and btw, 8% OVER budget!)
This money goes directly toward enriching the education of our children. Anna and I thank the many people who helped make this happen. The graciousness with which people donated their time and help made us thankful to be part of such a strong community.
And not only was this a wonderfully successful fundraiser, it was a FUN party! The PS166 community of parents and staff truly had a blast!
